City of Orange Township launches K-9 Unit The Orange Police Department introduces its new canine unit at the Orange Police Department on at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15. The K-9 will be a German Shepard, purchased from Tarheel Canine in North Carolina The dog will serve multiple purposes: specializing in narcotics, tracing for articles and handler protection. The training will begin on February 17 and will be conducted by the Voorhees Police Department, through its ties to the New Jersey Police Officers K-9 Association.
