IMPORTANT NOTICE

REGARDING THE
2020 CITY OF ORANGE TOWNSHIP
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
FOR MAYOR AND COUNCIL-AT-LARGE

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has issued Executive Order 105 which declared that the May 2020 Election will be Vote-By-Mail only. The Polls will not be open.
Beginning April 20, the Essex County Clerk’s office will begin mailing ballots to all registered voters in Orange at their home addresses. You will receive the Vote-By-Mail Ballot automatically from the Clerk’s Office as long as you are registered to vote.  You may call the Essex County Clerk at (973)-621-4921 to check your registration.
The Clerk will provide complete instructions in order for you to cast your Vote-By-Mail Ballot. Once you receive your ballot, it is important you read and follow the instructions carefully. Your Vote-By-Mail packet will include an envelope with a pre-paid stamp and envelope to mail your ballot back to the Clerk so it may be counted. You are encouraged to complete and return your mail-in ballot as soon as possible after you receive it.
For Orange voters that are disabled, and have an identification card which notes your disability, there will be a voting machine located at the Essex County Hall of Records in Newark.  Enter the building at 50 West Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102 and proceed to the fourth floor of the Hall of Records.
The last day to mail it is May 12, 2020. We will make every effort to keep you informed of updates as they are made available. In the meantime, if you have not received a mail-in ballot by May 5, 2020, or if you have any questions about voting by mail, you may contact:
