4-H Public Speaking Workshop

When: Thursday, January 30th from 6:00-8:00

Where: Garibaldi Hall

Who: Everyone in Grades Kindergarten through 12th Grades

Why: Members who participate in this Workshop will:

  • Gain confidence and improve Public Speaking Skills!
  • There will be Pizza! (Just donate $2 per person!)
  • Public speaking is a necessary skill to be a confident leader however, it is often the most feared. Youth are welcome to join this workshop for tips and practice to become better public speakers. Our presenter, Michelle Teitsma, 4-H Alumni and award-winning speaker will provide an action-packed presentation, inspiring participants to practice their new skills at Essex County’s annual 4-H Public Presentations event on February 28th.

Who: Everyone in Grades Kindergarten through 12th Grades

Why: Through giving public presentations, 4-H members learn to:

  • Express themselves clearly and convincingly.
  • Organize their ideas and present them in a logical order.
  • Research subjects.
  • Develop confidence in themselves.
  • Emphasize the major points of a presentation through visual tools and/or examples.
  • Listen to the opinions of others.

All 4-H members are encouraged to take part in order to remain in

“Good Standing”!
