What you need to know about CODE BLUE alerts
If you or someone you know is stuck out in the life-threatening cold, these warming centers can help.
Below are the citywide warming stations which are activated during a “Code Blue” alert during our winter months. All are subject to change, but we will work to notify everyone immediately if any changes are made.
The local government orders a Code Blue alert is in effect when:
– Temperatures reach 25 degrees Fahrenheit or lower without precipitation
– Temperatures reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower with precipitation
– The National Weather Service wind chill temperature will be zero degrees Fahrenheit or less for a period of two hours or more
City of Orange Warming Stations,
Monday – Friday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday: 10 am – 4 pm
-The Metcalf Field House, Orange, NJ
– City Council Chambers at City Hall, 29 N. Day Street, 4th Floor Orange, NJ
– St. Matthews AME, 336 Oakwood Ave, Orange, NJ
No Sunday Church Warming Center Hours, although the church is open for worship from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
