The City of Orange Board of Education will hold a special election:

  • Date – Tuesday, March 13

  • Time – 6:00AM – 8:00PM

  • Location – All regular polling locations.

The Board of Education currently has seven seats filled, however per New Jersey State Statute, an elected board must consist of nine members.

In the 2017 November elections, the residents of the City of Orange voted that the two available positions for the Board of Education would be chosen by the community rather than being appointed by the Mayor.

Candidates for the Board of Education election were nominated by petition that required at least 10 signatures in support of the nominee. The final candidates for the term of two years and eight months are Stephen Folsom, Antoinette Hall and Tyrone Tarver, while Al-Nesha Jones-Holiday and Siaka Sherif will be running for the eight month term.

Voting will take place at the designated polling center for the zone in which you reside. If you do not know your polling location, the New Jersey Division of Elections website will help you find your Ward, polling place, and voting district information by filling out an online form. If an exact match is found in the state’s records, you will be provided with your polling place, voting area district and the County Election Official information. If no match is found, please contact the Municipal Clerk’s Office for polling place location: 973-509-4900.
