Orange Municipal Council Meeting 

POLICY FOR CITIZENS COMMENTS FOR VIRTUAL MEETINGS 

It shall be the policy of the City Council of the City of Orange Township that the public may comment during virtual Council Meetings by using the “raise hand button” during the “Citizens Comments portion and 2nd Reading Ordinance Public Hearing. Each person addressing the Council shall give his or her name and address in an audible tone for the record and unless further time is granted by the presiding officer shall limit his or her address to three (3) minutes unless the comments are repetitive of other witnesses in which case the presiding officer may further limit the comment period. Citizens may also email questions or comments to citizencomments@orangenj.gov. All questions or comments must be submitted by email no later than 7:00 p.m. the day prior to the scheduled public meeting for posting on the website and available to the public. The City Council reserves the right to respond or not respond during the meeting to any citizen’s submission which includes and is not limited to emails, chats or live questions. Notice of this policy containing the above language shall be placed on the City of Orange Township’s website and Municipal Council’s website within forty-eight (48) hours of scheduled Council Meeting. 

The public is expected to conduct themselves in a proper manner, any derogatory, abusive or threatening statements will not be permitted. The chair will immediately rule such conduct out of order and terminate any further comments.
