2020 Census VIDEO: Participate & Protect
Yourself Against Census Fraud
–
Hello Dwayne D Warren,
The U.S. Census Bureau has identified people with disabilities as a hard-to-count population, which means they are at a greater risk of being under-counted in the 2020 census. It is critically important for people with disabilities to be fully and accurately counted in order to better ensure their voices are heard by elected officials at all levels of government – federal, state and local.
CENSUS 2020
Participation and Protection – Watch our video (English and Spanish) to learn more about accessible options and how to protect yourself against Census fraud.
Participation – The online questionnaire is accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. For example, video guides are available in American Sign Language and closed captioning. Print guides are available in braille or large print.
Starting the week of August 10th, census workers will visit households that have not yet responded and can assist anyone who needs help completing the form.
Protection – All census workers have a badge proving they are a census worker. If the person at the door does not have a badge, asks you questions about your bank account, social security number, or even your mom’s maiden name, shut the door and lock it. Then call the regional census office immediately.
