March Senior Events Cancelled Due to 
Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic

In an abundance of caution, The City of Orange Township is
cancelling ALL SENIOR EVENTS
for the balance of the month of March, effective immediately.

Medical appointments and grocery shopping transportation will still take place;
however, see below for scheduling and new protocols.

REGULAR MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION CALLS
Call (973) 280-3825 to schedule transportation at least 3 days prior to your appointment.

COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS)
MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION PROTOCOL

  • Do not schedule a medical transportation appointment. 
    The City of Orange Township will not provide medical transportation to individuals exhibiting signs of COVID-19
  • Call ahead to your Physician:
    If you have a medical appointment, call the healthcare provider and tell them that you Have or may have COVID-19. This will help the healthcare provider’s office take steps to keep other people from getting infected or exposed.
  • Call 911 if you have a medical emergency: 
    If you have a medical emergency and need to call 911, notify the dispatch personnel that you have, or are being evaluated for COVID-19. If possible, put on a face mask before emergency medical services arrive.

SHOPPING TRANSPORTATION PROTOCOL

Our regular shopping schedule is now limited to scheduled shopping trips to the East Orange Shop Rite Supermarket ONLY!
You must…

  • Call the Office of Older Adults (973) 266-4049 or 4050 to schedule a pick-up.
  • Transportation will provided with no more than 5 seniors per bus.
  • We have increased the number of drivers and trips scheduled to ShopRite in order to accommodate you during this time.

These changes have been implemented as a precautionary measure to
prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We regret any inconvenience.
